New interrogation video released of man who stabbed pregnant girlfriend to death

New interrogation video shows a man explaining what happened the night he stabbed and killed his pregnant girlfriend, D’Anna Thorn.

Armanuel Cummings was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading to the lesser charge of manslaughter, a sentence the victim's sister, Alexis Thorn, says is not enough.

“You killed my sister and my nephew you shouldn’t be walking the streets. You shouldn’t have gotten 10 years. Ten years is not enough. Ten years from now he will be walking the streets free doing whatever he wants to do, and we still don't have her.”

Cummings talked to investigators for hours after he stabbed his pregnant girlfriend April 2017.

JSO: “How many times did you stab her?” Cummings: “I don’t know.”

JSO: “How many times do you think?” Cummings: “Probably two or three.”

Cummings admitted the two got into a fight, claiming Thorn threw lighter fluid on him and she grabbed the knife first.

JSO: “She was pregnant, right?” Cummings: “That’s why I didn’t want to hurt her.”

JSO: “Was that your baby?” Cummings: “I don’t know.”

Detectives told Cummings during the interrogation that Thorn and her unborn baby had died and then arrested him for murder.

Thorn’s family say they forgive Cummings.

He is scheduled for release in March 2027.
