Restaurant Report visits Oasis Restaurant

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- State inspectors want another look at a popular St. Augustine restaurant after a recent inspection.

The inspector reports 19 violations at Oasis at 4000 A1A South.  10 of the violations are considered to be high-priority.

Among the noted issues: 

        Butter reserved to customers.  Individual butter restocked in cooler after being served.
        Raw animal food stored over ready to eat food.  Eggs kept over dairy in the cooler.
        Ready to eat food marked with a date that exceeds seven days.  A can of soup in a cooler marked december 26th.

A manager for Oasis tells Action News the restaurant corrected every issue.

Also, high on the inspection list, La Nopalera Mexican Restaurant on Crosshill Boulevard in Jacksonville. The location had 8 high-priority violations.

Verrazano Pizza at 1057 A1A Beach Boulevard in St. Augustine had 7 high-priority violations.

Lake city Correctional Institute earned our only clean plate award for no violations.
