Prosecutors: Uncle is suspect in pregnant Jacksonville teen's disappearance

Prosecutors say the uncle of Iyana Sawyer, a missing Jacksonville pregnant teen is considered a suspect in her disappearance.

16-year-old Iyana Sawyer was last seen leaving Terry Parker High School in December, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

She was five months pregnant when she disappeared.

Sawyer's uncle, Johnathan Quiles, is suspected of impregnating her, prosecutors said in court Thursday morning.

The lawyer for the teen’s family says he is communicating directly with the sheriff and “the family is still praying and holding out hope Iyana is found alive.”

Multiple sources tell Action News Jax they believe the teen's body is in the landfill on Otis Road.

JSO said it is still treating her disappearance as a missing person's case.
