JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: At this time the case is being worked the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit as a hit and run traffic fatality.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a woman lying in the roadway in Jacksonville Heights around 3:10 a.m. Sunday.
Officers found the woman lying on Shindler Drive, suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
Traffic homicide is investigating.
