Coronavirus: Officials link more than 100 COVID-19 cases in 8 states to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Novel coronavirus cases linked to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally have been confirmed in seven states outside the event’s South Dakota home.

At least 122 COVID-19 infections have been linked to the rally to date, Forbes reported.

Outside of South Dakota, states that have confirmed cases connected to the event include Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming, The Associated Press reported.

Health officials in South Dakota have confirmed 40 COVID-19 cases linked to the rally, while North Dakota has confirmed 17, NBC News reported.

According to Forbes, health officials in the six other states have confirmed the following cases:

• Minnesota: 35

• Nebraska: 18

• Wyoming: 7

• Montana: 5

• Wisconsin: 2

• Washington: 1

The annual 10-day gathering that began Aug. 7 attracted more than 460,000 vehicles, according to South Dakota’s Department of Transportation.
