Cracker Jill: Frito-Lay celebrates the start of baseball season with new mascot

Move over Cracker Jack. Fans attending a baseball game this season will find a new addition to an iconic ballpark snack brand.

Frito-Lay has announced the launch of Cracker Jill to celebrate the women who break down barriers in sports, according to a news release.

The special-edition bags will be available at the start of this year’s baseball season in ballparks across the country for a $5 or more donation to the Women’s Sports Foundation.

A complement to Cracker Jack, a brand that has been around for more than 125 years, Cracker Jill is being introduced “to show girls that they’re represented even in our most iconic snacks,” Tina Mahal, vice president, marketing at Frito-Lay North America said.

Artist Monica Ahanonu created five different Cracker Jill illustrations to honor the diversity of women in sports, according to Today.

Award-winning music artist Normani reimagined the iconic song “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” to mark the launch of Cracker Jill.
