On April 2, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a 45-day statewide moratorium into effect.
The executive order is aimed at helping prevent mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions for nonpayment. Right now, your landlord cannot make you leave your home without a court order.
Incoming Senate Democratic leader Gary Farmer, a Fort Lauderdale Democrat, asked Gov. DeSantis on Monday to extend the executive order by another 45 days.
