JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CareerSource Northeast Florida reopened its seven career centers on Tuesday, May 26. The agency tells Action News Jax it has new enhanced safety procedures in place to help ensure the health and safety of job seekers and employees.
Resources at the centers include job leads, access to the labor market and salary information, assessments and computer resources for updating resumes and conducting internet research.
The agency is hosting job seekers in their offices ‘by appointment only,’ and appointments are limited to 45 minutes. Also, to ensure social distancing standards and occupancy levels, children or other individuals are not permitted to accompany the job seeker to their appointment unless they are required for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) purposes.
Hours of center operations are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Virtual services will continue to be provided online, by phone at (904) 356-JOBS (5627) and via email.

CareerSource NEFL staff wear appropriate personal protective equipment. The agency tells us job seekers visiting the centers must wear face coverings such as a medical mask, scarf, bandanna or improvised cloth face mask. Staff will thoroughly clean and sanitize work areas between each appointment. Also, the temperatures of CareerSource NEFL staff will be checked each day.
Staff ask screening questions and use an infrared no-contact digital thermometer to check the temperature of all clients coming into the center. Anyone with symptoms or a temperature of more than 100 degrees will be asked to return at a later date.
Job seekers can book appointments through the CareerSource NEFL website here where they can schedule an appointment for their nearest location, or by phone at (904) 356-JOBS (5627).
