JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health said Saturday Jacksonville’s 32207 zip code had 54 positive COVID-19 cases, the most of any other in the county.
32207 encompasses San Marco, the Southbank, Spring Park, and other areas south and east of Downtown, stretching to University Blvd.
That’s despite barely cracking the top ten Jacksonville zip codes by population.
The first true weekend day since the safer-at-home order meant families ventured out for essential items.

“A lot of the shelves are empty,” Lesley Kellogg said. “We saw somebody sneeze and we went the other way.”
Kellogg spent Saturday shopping at the Walmart on Philips Highway.
The retail giant announced this week that stores will operate with a maximum of 20 percent capacity for safety.
Action News Jax cameras captured long lines outside Costco, Walmart and other stores. People shopped in gloves and masks for protection from coronavirus.
“Walmart is usually always packed, and it’s not like that,” Kennedy Hayes said. “[I only feel safe] inside my home.”
While it’s unclear why 32207 leads Duval County with 54 cases, the data shows it has more than 20 more than the next-highest zip code.
