Internet hotspots on backorder for St. Johns County students

According to St. Johns County Public Schools, teachers are pinpointing students who need this support to provide them paper copies of assignments.

The school district ordered 4,000 T-Mobile hotspots primarily for students using their EmpowerED program.

According to schools spokesperson Christina Langston, T-Mobile reported that they have over 100,000 devices on backorder. She tells Action News Jax that with the online surge in education nationwide, T-Mobile has seen over 130,000 orders for hotspots in the last few weeks. St. Johns County Public Schools expects a partial delivery from its order to arrive next week.
