JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Grocery store employees are working on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic. Major retailers are adding new layers of protection to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- Grocery stores are installing plexiglass barriers to protect employees and customers.
- Publix is installing the protective screens at registers, customer service desks and pharmacies. Publix expects to finish the project in two weeks.
- Walmart began installing the guards at pharmacies at Walmart and Sam’s Clubs and will install the guards at regular Walmart registers over the next three weeks.
- Whole Foods confirmed it’s in the process of rolling out sneeze guards at all locations to protect customers and Team Members at the registers.
