JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A motorcyclist in his late 20s died Sunday night after his Harley-Davidson struck a pickup truck on Hodges Boulevard, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened at about 10:15 p.m. in the 3600 block of Hodges Boulevard, according to a sheriff’s office news release. The man was riding north when a silver Toyota Tacoma turned off Danforth Drive onto Hodges Boulevard and entered his path.
The motorcycle struck the rear of the Tacoma, causing the truck to flip, the release said. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
It was the 128th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 17th involving a motorcycle, the sheriff’s office said.
