JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville eye surgeon, Dr. Arun Gulani, helped a Virginia man see for the first time in 15 years.
Most of Dr. Gulani’s patients are from out of state, but because of COVID-19 the Gulani Vision Institute stopped out of state surgeries.
But, a Virginia man was so desperate to see again, that he had a friend drive him 14 hours to Dr. Gulani.

Dr. Gulani said he could see the man’s need. The institute had him take two COVID-19 tests, which were negative. He also self-isolated for 14 days.
The patients had extremely advanced cataracts called white cataracts in both of his eyes. The 71-year-old man walked out of Dr. Gulani’s office dancing out the door.
