Alexus Cleavenger joined the Action News Jax team as a Reporter in January 2023. As a Florida native, born and raised right outside Orlando, she is excited to call Jacksonville her new home! Prior to joining the Action News Jax team, Alexus graduated cum laude from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. While in college, she worked at WUFT News and won a student Edward R. Murrow Award for a news special on Hurricane Ian. Alexus also interned for the CBS affiliate station WKMG News 6 in Orlando and cheered competitively on the University of Florida’s club sports team. When Alexus is not reporting, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends and soaking up the sunshine on the beach.
