Zion Decoteau, Action News Jax

Reporter

Zion Decoteau is a reporter at CBS 47/FOX 30 Action News Jax. He joined the team in January 2026. Zion graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Journalism and Media studies from CUNY Brooklyn College in New York City. He comes to us from WTEN/WXXA News 10 ABC/FOX 23 in Albany, NY where he worked as a reporter, multimedia journalist, and substitute anchor. At WTEN, his stories took him from a crane collapsing on a home, to a three-week long corrections officer strike, and breaking bread with Holocaust survivors. Zion has a passion for journalism and loves covering breaking news, crime and courts, as well as in depth feature reports and government affairs. While he’s a native New Yorker by way of the Caribbean, Zion has extensive family ties to the Florida and is happy to be reporting in the Sunshine State. When he’s not working Zion loves the beach and exploring new places around cities. Any story ideas, or want Zion to host a community-based event? Reach out to him at zion.decoteau@actionnewsjax.com.
